Domingos MonteiroPortugal18952pJoined 2013

Domingos Monteiro was born in Porto, Portugal, on November 10, 1956. He was a little child when he went to Angola, where he spent his childhood and youth. There he had got his first camera at age of 13, which he first used mainly for social and family portraits and nature photography. Back in Portugal he worked as a director in RTP - the first public portuguese television channel - especially in the documentary field, where he directed documentaries shown in several countries, including Portugal, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, Germany, France, Finland, England, USA and Canada. Some of his documentaries have received awards at international festivals in Portugal, Germany and the U.S. and others were included in the collections of the Museum of Man in Paris. He is an independent publisher and producer for over 20 years, remaining attached to the area of the documentary films. Over the past three years he has devoted more time and attention to the photographic art, mainly to street and nature photography, where he feels inspired by the masters Ansel Adams, Cartier-Bresson, Robert Capa and Doisneau.
