In looking at the revised benefits of Pro and Unlimited plans, I see that Pixu is no longer listed as a benefit at these levels. I know the writing has been on the wall now for some time for Pixu as there has been no development there for at least 2 years. Has Pixu been officially discontinued?

As Greg mentioned, Pixu is no longer offered to new members as a part of the Pro and Unlimited memberships. Many members have asked for additional functionality in Pixu and we no longer feel that Pixu in its current form can answer to those demands.

 

We are keen that all of our services live up to the 1x standard and are always looking for new ways to bring extra value to our memberships.

As a current Pixu member, I can't even log into my account. If I go to http://pixu.com/login I just get a page with a header bar and no way to login.

Greg, please try to log in straight to your own pixu page. The general log in page has been shut down.

i want to cancel my custom domain for the Pixu homepage, I deleted it from the settings but when I type the custom address www.nicolasmarino.com it still brings the site.

I'm changing hosts so I don't need pixu anymore and I need to use my custom domain there.

Please, let me know what to do ...

If you go into your Pixu page settings there is an option there to delete your Pixu account.

 

Out of curiosity what hosting service are you moving to?

I thought that was the reason I lost my Pixu galleries so I made a payment for 107 €... now I think I did a mistake and lost both 107 and my galleries. Please tell me I´m wrong.

I would however like to add that Pixu is no longer being developed and is no longer offered in the current memberships. I would therefore recommend everyone who are using Pixu to switch to another image hosting service.

I don't understand a point...

Pixu now is down and this can happen (although it happens in the worst moment for me) but I'm worrying about the suggestion to move to another hosting service.

Will Pixu disappear soon or 1x is just ceasing to provide this service with memberships? Is the problem bigger than it seems?

I have recently created my website with Pixu, making of course "publicity" and I have received the first positive feedbacks through my homepage, contacts for featuring etc...Now I have to start over, losing all the work?

Pixu is no longer being developed and it is no longer offered as a part of any membership. As a result, you will not be able to continue to use Pixu after your current membership expires.

The latest news is that Pixu should be back at the latest in Friday next week. We hope to have it back sooner though.

What are you going to do with all the pictures?

Hope that 1x will support that all images and text uploaded to the Pixu-page is accessible to transfer these to another platform. It is not acceptable that my effort of two years page creating will be lost. All my customers get in contact with me through the pixu-page. Since the press release about my HIPA-contest success on March 16th there were more than 1,000 page views from new visitors worldwide.

I am very disappointed about Pixu, so much effort for nothing .. it was my one and only precious homepage.. :(

We are sorry about the inconvenience. Pixu was using old technique and we had to take Pixu down for crucial security and performance upgrades. It is planned to be back by the end of the week. However, we no longer have the resources to continue developing Pixu, so it's a good idea to start looking for alternatives like wix, smugmug, zenfolio, wordpress or photoshelter. There will be plenty of time if you decide to move to a different service.

My Pixu webpage has been "back" for a couple days now, but with reduced landing page customization functions. The gallery cover photos are missing without the ability to replace them. They are blank with the work "empty" written within the blocks implying the the gallery is empty (devoid of photos.) On the landing page, the photograph was missing and I have only been able to replace it with a small image which gives the landing page an odd, unprofessional appearance. My barbararead.1x.com web address no longer works which means I have had to change all my links leading back to my webpage back to .pixu.com.

 

I hope once all the upgrades to Pixu are made that the these problems will be fixed. In the meantime, I will be looking for another hosting site since Pixu will be discontinued at some undetermined future date.

 

Lucky guy my one has disapeared, it´s not working at all.

 

My site is running since this morning. Gallery, Biography and Contact is available.

 

Since it is clear that pixu.com will terminate their service, I will "transfer" my photo homepage to another provider ... my first test is with jimdo.com (http://harrylieber.jimdo.com)

my PIXU-page is working again. My test-period for the new WordPress Homepage www.hansmartindoelz.co expires in 8 days. I don't know yet if I shall grade up there for 99 €/year. If I knew that PIXU would continue working (just for a little fee after my current PRO-membership period expires) I would not buy the WordPress Homepage. All my cards, my flyers, my book "shapes - colors - structures" that I published last year include the PIXU address. And the press release (16 March 2015) about my HIPA-success contained the PIXU address and my name. That's why I actually have more than 100 accesses to my PIXU-page daily worldwide from every continent (as I mailed you some days ago). It would be very regrettable if PIXU would die. Until now (after six days) my new WordPress Page is not found by Google search with "Hans Martin Doelz", while the PIXU-page is on top of the found documents with "Hans-Martin Doelz).

I write only to say that I haven't received any help after my e-mail to 1x support a week ago.

My PIXU page has never come back, problems still remain, no biography, no links and publications, less functions etc etc.

I have moved to another homepage with urgency ( carlocafferini.wix.com/carlo-cafferini ) and seems to work well, but is still under construction!

I hoped to receive more support about this matter, considering that PIXU was a service offered with membership and, to date, my page is broken since more than 15 days.

when my PIXU-page came back, I also had a reduced functionality. My Blog, Contact and Biography buttons had disappeared. But now they are back after doing the following:

 

Go to the cogwheel in the top line where your name CARLO appears. Click on the cogwheel and choose "page settings"

 

In the middle of the field appear "Features". Mark Biography, Contact, Blog and (if you want) Print and after saving this, these features will appear agai on your top line. Hope that helps.

Since a couple of days ago, going in the cogwheel "page settings", there wasn't the line with the button 'biography-contact...' etc etc

Now I have restored this two ones, but I can't restore my custom page 'links' (there is no button in page settings-function), I can edit it in 'advanced settings' but I can't see it anywhere when I save changes (the page is setted to public).

Moreover, I have lost some functions, such as the one to add an image from my pc: if I want to add a cover photo on my homepage, I have to choose only among the ones still saved in data storage, I suppose...the button 'upload from pc' or 'browse' has disappeared.

However, I'm moving definitively to wix, is very customizable :)

regrettably I can't help you with the issue "link". I never had this.

But "upload photos" works. Try it.

 

I switched to WordPress, yesterday my test period expired and today I have to pay 99 €. That's the fee for 1 year. I don't know if it's too much compared with other offers but now it's done.

 

Looked through your profile on LensCulture. Your five projects are worth looking at. The architecture project was featured by the editors. Congrats !

Coming back to my pixu page, i was not referring to the function "upload photos" to add photos in the gallery, i refer to the possibility, when i edit a custom page ( like my homepage), of inserting an image, as for example the cover photo. Now, when i click on "add image" while editing, i can only use the images that i see, but i can't use a different image from my pc, because the button "browse from pc" has disappeared.

I think that only support could help me, even if by now i have moved to another hosting service and there is no more need to solve this problem...
