Thank you for looking at my photo.

I took this photo at sunrise when the water began to fill the rice terraces.

I darkened the overall brightness to emphasize the beauty of the gradation of the sky and water.

Please critique this photo primarily for brightness, color, and composition.

Shadow details have been carefully adjusted, but should more be done to improve them?

Should the overall color cast and saturation be improved?

I would appreciate it if you could point out any improvements.

Hi and welcome all I can do is tell you how I see your image and give you my take on it. What I would do if it was mine. So this is what I did back into Photoshop / Camera raw / Shadows +100 / Clarity +11 / Sharpen a little bit more. I find your composition works a treat to no change there. Last as you can see quite a bit of dodge work on the land and water with opacity set at 20% - Thank you for sharing...

Hello Hiroyoshi Kushino,

thank you for uploading your photo to this forum.

I agree with what my friend Danny wrote. Only what I added is more details and more saturation in the sky and in the left part of the picture. Also, I added more light to the bottom of the image using curves and masks. I edited in PSCC 2023 and Camera Raw using masks and brushes.

Regards

Hello, @Hiroyoshi Kushino

Welcome to our forum and thank you for posting your image. Well I like the time of day and your composition quite a lot. Just as my friends opened up the shadow and added some light, I did the same. Fort I added a plus 1 to exposure in Camera Raw. Then I opened the shadows, added asome texture and clarity and -dehase. However, very slightly. Then I adjusted the whites and blacks. Afterwards in Photoshop, selective color I adjusted the following colours, red-yellow-magenta-neutrals and blacks. I did this intiutively. I observed the image while doing it. The values are not so important because the outcome might not be as pleasing to you as it is to me. These are subjective values. I advise you to try these out. Have good light. Cicek Kiral SC...
