I took a photo in natural light in an abandoned building with light from the window.

The question is whether there is any point in putting such pictures on this website and if so, is there anything to improve the picture. I would appreciate any suggestion, tip and criticism.

parameters:

iso: 200

f:-stop  2.5

exposure time: 1/250 sec

Hi Svetlana,

that is a very interesting photo. My vision would be to draw attention to the main character by "painting black".

(see next post - I accidentally pressed "write")

Greetings

Udo

One problem arises in the hair area - more time would have to be taken here.

Hello Svetlana

Thank you for sharing your Rays of Sunshine portrait with us. As it's creative and original, it might stand a chance in curation; however, I feel that the striped pattern of the model's clothes is distracting from the contrasts of light and shadow in the photo and it would have been better had she been wearing a plain, dark top. I have tried to increase the contrast to draw more attention to the areas of bright light, and I have also added a vignette as the top left corner is rather bright. I am not a portrait expert, so wait and see if there are any other suggestions.

Good light, Elizabeth

Hi, Svetlana

Welcome to our forum. I liked the image you shared with us. I think it is quite suiting for 1x portraits genre. My friends already provided you with their valuable ideas. I will share my point of view as well. Here the gist of the story in the image is the looks of the model to me. The further away I take my eyes of her looks the more uninteresting become the other details. So, I advise you a vertical crop. The try to eliminate the distracting background as smoothly as possible. Afterwards a neutral filter for the face improvement and some additional sharpening might help improve it more. I wish you good light...Cicek

Cicek,

You did really great work with this edit. I hope you have no problem if I give a little suggestion. I should lighten only the pupils a fraction for a more bright look.

kind regards Theo L.

To me the most impressive parts of the frame are the eyes and the two arch shaped lighted area over the model. To imrove the effect of light on the eyes and body, I have reduced the exposure at the background. Then I have improved the contrast over the model. Hope you like the my edits.
