I realy start to like 1x, I received a free pro invitation for 3 months. I have been looking for a place to ask for CC of those photos I believe should have received more recognition. There is no need to post here those with multiple awards. I do people photography and I most like documetary, photojournalism and street portraits, but I do also some staged portrait photos in my small studio or on-location. Photography is my passion, never learned it, never took a course, never been my job. So I do what I like. This photo was shot in the area of Puerto Nariño, colombian amazonas in november 2022, Fuji GFX100s &GF32/64 @ 51mm (MM) f10.0 and 1/200, natural light. It ws a quick shot, probably f10 because I did some landscape before. Couldn't speak to the woman, she did not speak spanish. For PJD to much post-processing, for portrait picture, it did not work so good, wondering why, for me it has something special. Question: What do you think about the post-processing and general position of this elderly woman. As said, couldn't ask here anything, she spoke only Yagua and my friend with whom I was travelling spoke Ticuna. Difficult situation. I like the contrast, her T-shirt, absolutely modern, and then this face and the place she lived are completely in contrast.
Hi Christion welcome back great looking subject well framed and composed. On a closer look I feel it need sharpening So I used Topaz AI Sharpen. Also Nik Tools Tonal contrast to add punch. Only on half power 50% I also did some dodge tool work thank you for sharing..
This is the 3rd photograph of yours I have seen here. You say, "I believe should have received more recognition..." I do try to see as many photographs in the curation queue as I can. This 'may' be the first one that I have seen in the queue. (I definitely didn't see the other two that I have commented on.) Portraits of older people are more dramatic as their faces have so much character. Your photo is fine as is. Daniel's edit does have more punch.

Thank you Daniel, yes this is a big difference and it looks much better, I mostly use Lr and NIK, sometimes a bit of PS, but I am not very well in it. I feel htat the skon tone is a bit to orange, usually I dont sharpen to much my images, but that's great, what you did works well. Thank you.

Thank you David, I did not put this one for curation here. As I am new I wanted to start and put those images on curation which have been awarded in international contest. I use the critic forum for those images which did not do well and personally thought taht they have been underated. I realy apreciate the comments here. Thank you.
Hi Christian,
This is such a compelling portrait. Her expression holds so much strength and quiet endurance, and you’ve captured it beautifully. The texture in her skin and hair feels honest and unfiltered, and the contrast with her shirt, which feels modern and almost surreal, adds a layer of cultural complexity that really drew me in.
You asked about the post-processing, and I think it’s already very close. That said, I made a very minimal Photoshop edit just to show how small shifts can make a meaningful impact. I brought a touch more light into the eyes, just the catchlights and whites, and added a very slight yellow tone to the highlights using a curves adjustment. I’ve included a screenshot to show how little it took. These are subtle refinements, not corrections, but I do think they help guide the viewer more deeply into the emotional space of the portrait.
Overall, this image is strong and thoughtful. It already tells a story, and with just a few small touches, it becomes even more engaging. Beautiful work.
All the best,
Tammy

Great Tammy and thanks for the sugestions, I do use curves in Lr to, have to see that more close in future, actually this is the best version for me now, previously were to many orange tones and as you say tese little changes making the difference, I am very glad to see here in the forum so many cc's and helpfull advises.
Hello, Christian
Welcome to our forum and thank you for sharing this impressive portrait with us. I think it is impressive because everything is so simply natural. The information is there. I will approach it a bit figuratively. The woman looks to have had a long life with loaded burdens and as if drained of energy here. Yet the image on her t-shirt shows faces of energetic young women. There is quite an irony. Well, my starting point is the woman, her appearance and her expression. So, what I want to advise is to reflect her worldly experience to the surface of the image. I want to advice a draining of color. In addition I advice to brighten the background to show the viewer that her surroundings are also a part of her old life...I wish you good light. Cicek
Hi Cicek, thanks for sharing your point of view, in this case I am more with Tammy. There is always a multiple way to see a photo and that's what makes this forum great, having different opinions on a subject. The desaturation you did is not so on my taste, to colorfull I dont like neither. Tammy version an bit of more sharpening would probably the way I would go, but this is with a next, new pictures. Thanks for sharing your opinion.
Solo a media potencia (50%). También utilice la herramienta de sobreexposición. Gracias por compartir.
creo que esta imagen pide este blanco y negro que da potencia al rostro y las huellas del tiempo
