I know it may look chaotic at the first glimpse, but I really love the curving trunks with the red sunlight coating on.

In my view, it's definitely not a eye catching or eye candy image, but worth spending more time to ponder the form of these trunks and look through all those details on the trees

Hi Siyang Chen and welcome to " The Home World of Learning " and thank you for taking the time to share your fine image -

It's good that you can see light and know how to use it - Just makes those trees look 3D with that wonderful side lighting well done. - What I ask myself is it enough to get published in selection - It's a fair to good image but lacks that special power of imapact in my view.

What we do here is try many ways to lift your image to a higher level with advice and tips - I have had your image back into Photoshop to see first hand what I could come up with - You Know how to test the Senior Critics don't you I find this image very hard... - I've tried heavy contrast - I've tried better composition - I've tried monochrome. -

What I came up with in the end was see Attached - I did a small crop off three sides to help balance and composition -

I then used a Pre Set in NIK Tools Colour Efx 4 - Called Solarization at last something that made me sit up and take notice. Not everbody cut of tea but I like it - What I have to remember this is your image and in the end it's what like - I have enjoyed looking thank you.

This is just my view I am but one Photographer...

Hello, Siyang Chen,

Thank you so much for showing your image in this forum. I will try to present my vision of your photo.

The frame is a bit "atypical", seems very confused and it's hard to find a place to concentrate on. But maybe that was what you meant to confuse ... Okay.

I decided to approach the editing and final look of your photo in a different way, I edited it in PS CC 2022.

I changed the photo tonality to light sepia and added a Gausian Bluar. The photo is now softer and it seems to me that it is more inviting and convincing. In my opinion, it is warmer in reception.

This is my suggestion, as you can see Senior Critic Daniel showed a different view of your photo, so you can see that each photographer can see the same thing differently. And that's what's beautiful about photography.

Remember that this is your photo and I only showed you my point of view.

Best wishes
