I posted a recent photo taken in Mt. Bugaboo, a beautiful palc ein Rocky mountain. It was a early July morning, the morning golden lights shines on the peaks of Mt. Bugaboo, summer wild flows stand around the waterfalls, this creats a beautiful and harmorny scerny. I was quit impressed and took the picture. I use the flowers as foreground. waterfalls in midground and peaks with golden lights on the fareground. I adjust the lights to emphersize the lighs and the colours. I wish I can convay the beauty of scenry to viewers.
The photo was taken with a Sony a7R4, A Sony GM 16035 mm lens, ISO 100, F 13 and 1/5 shuttle speed. The photo was processed with LR and PS.
The photo was not selected for publication. It got quit lo score by bot member and expert curators (both score 4%), However, it did recevied 3 favorites during the curation. The comments for "what curators likes and the area to improv" were quit similar and confused. For my own opinion,I fell this photo, compaired to other my own photos published and awarded in 1x.com, it seems desire a better score. (I may be wrong.)
I am woundering if the critique team can let me now what are the main areas I need to improve, and any suggestions in order to make this photo to reach the level for pubilication?
Hi Bing,
Unfortunately, it often happens that good images are automatically rejected by user curating - it just depends on which users were involved in the process. Therefore, the results and suggestions of the anonymous process should not be taken seriously.
Ok, let's get back to your picture, which I really like. I'm not a landscape expert and I'm just a normal user like you, but of course I have a suggestion for improvement.
I have applied an HDR filter, which gives your scene more dynamics and sharpness. I also cropped your photo at a ratio of 2:3 so that the bush in the foreground is off-centre. I personally like your photo even better now - but that is of course a matter of personal taste. You will certainly get other suggestions and find the right one for you.

Hello Bing
Thank you for sharing your landscape photo with us. I think it is worthy of publication with so many details and contrasts, although I generally prefer landscapes in landscape format. Udo has given you an excellent edit which I can't improve upon, but I notice you have some monochrome images in your gallery so I have converted this photo to black and white just as another option to consider.
Good light, Elizabeth
Dear Udo and Elizabeth:
Thank you both very much for the valuable suggestions and editting. It certainly help me in the future for my photogray work,
Bing
Hello Bing,
Thank you for sending the photo to this forum
I missed the foreground emphasis in your photo. Due to the fact that you have already done quite a lot of editing in PS, it was difficult for me to achieve a good final effect. Nevertheless, using masks for shadows and highlights, I performed actions to pull out the foreground and added some highlights in the central part of the photo. I added saturation for selected colors: yellow and green. I took the blue from the stream.
I removed a large number of spots that you have either on the matrix or on the lens.
Best regards
